As the 2013 ARLIS/NA Wolfgang Freitag Internship winner, I completed my internship at the National Gallery of Art. In this position, I worked with the Vertical Files Librarian to provide electronic access to the vertical files collection. I developed a digitization plan, which involved assessment and promotion strategies along with an educational instruction component. I benchmarked this plan against established projects from museum, federal, and academic institutions.
A poster presentation called “Digitizing Ephemera: A Case Study for Research, Strategy, and Implementation of a Digitization Plan for the National Gallery of Art Library’s Vertical Files.” was presented at the 2014 ARLIS/NA Conference in Washington, D.C.
